Legal terms

These terms apply to the WebCopier desktop application and this website. Last updated 6 September 2026.

WebCopier 1.4.0-rc1 · Updated 2026-09-06 · Windows 10/11

1. What the software is

WebCopier is a Windows desktop utility for capturing public website frontends into local projects. Capture runs on your computer.

2. Your responsibility

You must have permission to capture a site. You must follow applicable law and the target site’s terms. A capture does not grant you copyright or ownership of the content.

3. Copyright

WebCopier does not give you rights in third-party text, images, code, or brands. Do not use captures to impersonate a site, phish, or redistribute someone else’s work without authorization.

4. Backend limitation

The software does not extract server-side applications, databases, or administration systems. Offline copies are rendered frontends plus saved assets.

5. Privacy and network use

Captured pages, assets, and project files remain on your PC. WebCopier does not upload those archives as website backups.

Account and license activity uses the WebCopier API (api.webcopier.tools). That includes account metadata such as email, plan, a hardware identifier used for device limits, and license status. Browsing history of the sites you capture is not sold to data brokers.

6. License plans

Paid and free plans are described on the pricing page. The free trial is one page per the published plan. Do not bypass license checks.
