Terms of Service & Legal Shield
Last Updated: August 2026. Please review these Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and Intellectual Property Disclaimers carefully before using the WebCopier software and related services.
1. Nature of the Software & Local Execution
WebCopier is a desktop utility designed for legitimate web archiving, offline research, developer testing, and personal backup. The software runs locally on the user's personal computer.
- Client-Side Processing: All web page requests, HTML rendering, asset downloading, and media caching occur directly from the user's machine and IP address.
- No Proxy / Cloud Scraping: WebCopier does not operate central web-scraping proxy farms. The software functions purely as an automated local browser tool.
- No Cloud Asset Retention: Downloaded website content, code, images, and archives are stored exclusively on the user's local disk drive. WebCopier servers never receive or store the content of websites captured by users.
2. User Responsibility & Copyright / DMCA Shield
Notice to Users: You are solely and exclusively responsible for ensuring that your use of WebCopier complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws, including copyright, intellectual property, and target website Terms of Service.
WebCopier is a neutral tool, analogous to a web browser, download manager, or screen recording utility. By using WebCopier, you expressly agree:
- Capturing a website does not confer any copyright, ownership, patent, or intellectual property rights over the downloaded content.
- You will not use captured website files to infringe copyrights, impersonate third-party brands (phishing), redistribute proprietary assets commercially without authorization, or engage in malicious or deceptive activities.
- You will respect
robots.txtdirectives, rate limits, and target website usage guidelines. WebCopier incorporates built-in request pause options to prevent server overloads. - The creators, publishers, and distributors of WebCopier assume zero liability for how users choose to utilize files or content acquired via the software.
3. License Grants, Device Limits & Fair Use
Upon acquiring a license (Free Trial, Starter, Pack, Pro, or Business), WebCopier grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to run the desktop application on supported Windows devices according to your plan's hardware limits.
- Anti-Tampering: You agree not to decompile, reverse-engineer, crack, or bypass cryptographic grant verification mechanisms embedded within the software.
- Free Trial Abuse: Free trial accounts are strictly limited to 1 trial per hardware machine. Automated creation of multiple trial accounts via throwaway email addresses or HWID spoofing is prohibited and results in immediate account restriction.
- Fair Use Discovery: Unlimited / Fair Use quotas on agency plans are intended for authentic human workflow. Abusive automated flooding that degrades network stability or license infrastructure is subject to automatic throttling.
4. Technical Feasibility & Disclaimer of Warranties
WebCopier employs real browser rendering (Chromium / Playwright) to maximize capture accuracy on modern single-page applications. However, modern web architectures present inherent constraints:
- Authentication-protected paywalls, dynamic server-side session APIs, real-time WebSockets, streaming video protocols (DRM), and proprietary backend databases cannot be fully duplicated offline.
- WebCopier is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or 100% pixel-perfect offline recreation of all third-party web services.
5. Privacy & Data Telemetry
We believe in total user privacy:
- We collect only basic account metadata (email address, account tier, hardware ID hash for device counting, and license grant token status).
- We NEVER track your browsing history, capture website contents, log private network data, or sell user information to third-party data brokers.
6. Contact & DMCA Inquiries
